HOW TO VOLUNTEER AT CHUO 89.1 FM

Here is your opportunity to become involved in Ottawa’s ONLY bilingual Campus and Community Radio Station CHUO 89.1 FM.

STEP 1
Swing by for one of our orientation sessions where you’ll learn about our early beginnings, how to get involved, and answers to any burning questions you might have about CHUO. No previous experience is required, we provide all training.

ORIENTATION SESSION:

Friday @ 5 PM

You can contact us at the office at 613.562.5965 for more info.

STEP 2
After you finish your first orientation you will have a general idea of what you want to do. Your first responsibility as a new volunteer is to contribute to daily life at the station through general volunteer work – this is your chance to see CHUO in action – you might end up sorting CD’s in the music library, entering data into one of our many databases, making posters, translation, voicing ads, scripting station IDs and a plethora of other stimulating tasks!

STEP 3
Once you know what you’ve shown your unending dedication to CHUO it’s high time we set up some times to do training. All volunteers are encouraged to sign up for all trainings. Your first sessions will be all about Music then the basics of Production, the next round of trainings will be interview skills, then the biggie – ON-AIR! Remember it all depends of you and how dedicated you want to be to CHUO 89.1 FM

Good Luck!
