On Friday January 20th, the Ottawa chapter of the Palestinian Youth Movement hosted a Solidarity and Resistance Arts Show in support of the liberation of Palestine. The event included evocative speeches from members of the Palestinian Youth Movement, words from Dr. Khuri of Run for Palestine, a lively dabke performance (a Levantine Arab folk dance) by local dance group Dalona Zaffeh, as well as an original poem and moving performance of a Palestinian folk song performed by local poet and songwriter Maisaloon Hammoud.

BLACK HISTORY OPENING CEREMONY

This past Saturday at the National Gallery of Canada was the Opening Ceremony of Black History Month. This event was put on by Black History Ottawa and featured various speeches, performances and award presentations to recognize outstanding members of Ottawa’s black community.

WORLD AIDS DAY CEREMONY 2022

On Thursday, December 1st 2022 the Red Ribbon raising ceremony was held on Parliament Hill to observe World Aids Day. The ceremony aimed to commemorate those living with HIV/AIDS and provide them with support, with this year’s theme being “Equalize”, along with remembering those who were lost due to the disease. It also addressed the stigmas around AIDS, and how inequality was one of the defining factors in how detrimental the disease truly is.

HODAN HASHI VIGIL

Saturday, November 19th 2022 a vigil was held at Ottawa City Hall for Hodan Hashi, a 23 year old Ottawa woman who died at a Saskatoon nightclub after being attacked by Paige Theriault-Fisher. The vigil provided a space for members of the Ottawa-Gatineau community to voice their outrage about what many believe to be lenient charges on Theriault-Fischer which were manslaughter and release on $5,000 bail.

1) des reportages quotidiens à la une. Il s’agit de bulletins d’information d’une durée maximale de 3 minutes qui comprennent généralement 3 titres et qui sont diffusés en anglais et en français. Vous pouvez choisir de contribuer quotidiennement, hebdomadairement ou occasionnellement en français ou en anglais. Voici un exemple.
2) Nouvelles. Il s’agit de reportages de 5 à 7 minutes qui traitent d’un sujet ou d’un événement spécifique. Ces reportages comprennent généralement des recherches, des interviews et un bref résumé écrit. En voici un exemple.
