celebrates geographicinformation system (GIS) technology. GIS Day 2011 at the University of Ottawaprovides an opportunity for those curious about GIS (a Canadian invention) to viewreal-world applications of this technology in action. This year the University of Ottawa’s Department of Geography, Geographic Statisticaland Government Information Centre (GSG), and the Laboratory for Applied Geomaticsand GIS Science (LAGGISS) will host GIS Day 2011. There will be student exhibits andevents taking place between 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on the 16th of November in theUniversity Unicenter (see attached map). We are planning a GIS themed poster, photoand essay contest as well as seminars, and workshops and charity bake sale.
